Hi all!

I don't know if anyone even reads this journal anymore, but I thought I would address my f-list before going into the greater fandom. I've been obsessively reading Sherlock BBC (almost entirely Sherlock/John), and I think I would like to try writing. I'm going to try to go about it differently, this time - I want to write (and complete) stories with substantive plot. I feel like all my fics lately have been PWPs (not that there's anything wrong with that, but I would like to branch out...)

My issue is that I am from the US, and I really think I need a beta to Brit-pick. So if anyone from the UK would like to volunteer, I would really appreciate it. Please comment on this post and let me know if you are interested, and I will respond with my many plot ideas to see if there's a story we're both interested in developing.

Thanks!

Not from the UK, so I can't offer to help, but I did want to reassure that there are still people checking up on your journal ;-)

Thanks!

And going by your icon, I imagine you would be interested in reading Sherlock fics, as well? I absolutely adore this fandom. I feel like Sherlock is a very difficult character to write, and yet there are quite a few amazing fics. ^^

I actually just started playing around with (meaning it might be finished in 5 years or so) a Batman/Sherlock crossover story.

I admit, I did not enjoy Season 2 - I like Mycroft's character too much to be willing to watch him be turned into an idiot so easily fooled. I have decided to ignore Season 2 altogether (except for using some screencaps for icons) and just stick to Season 1-based stories.

I have to agree, there are so many great stories out there to enjoy (and so little free time)!

Batman/Sherlock crossover? Sounds interesting. All that genius in one room might break my brain, though... lol.

Hmm... I can understand that, to an extent. Though overall, I enjoyed Season 2, I'm kind of holding out for Season 3 explaining Mycroft's actions - because there are definitely parts that don't make sense. Did he really believe that Moriarty had a few lines of code that were a key to everything? Like Moriarty said on the roof to Sherlock - that's science fiction. I want to believe that Mycroft would know better. And if he had Moriarty (secretly) contained - why let him go? It doesn't really make sense. He intended to have Irene secretly executed (even if by proxy) - why not Moriarty? Was there an underlying reason for him telling Moriarty all that information on Sherlock - maybe Sherlock exchanged that for access to Baskerville? I don't know - I'm holding out for Season 3. I really, really hope that Sherlock doesn't leave poor John thinking he's dead for 3 years...

Of the two ideas I have bouncing around in my head right now, one is based completely in Season 2 - taking place during TRF, but drawing heavily from SiB. The other is a Sentinel AU, starting with SiP, featuring Sentinel!Sherlock and Guide!John. I don't know which one I will focus on first - probably whichever I can get a beta/brit-picker more interested in.

And yeah, definitely a ridiculous amount of great stories. Maybe I'll put a recs list together, one of these days.

We'll see - at this point there's probably only about a 40% chance of me actually finishing it. Too many plot bunnies, not enough time - particularly as my muses have been exceptionally moody lately.

Whichever way you go, I'm sure it will be awesome ;-)

Yeah, I know all about moody muses. Good luck!

And thanks! :)

PS - I just finished a short fill on the kink meme. It's a complete PWP, but maybe you would be interested in reading?
